The 4X4 trail into the backcounty climbs a short but steep rock wall passing sandstone fins, towering pinnacles and tall spires known as the Marching Men. We stop at Tower Arch for an optional hike. As you travel along the track, hear informative commentary about the geology, wildlife and history of the park. We make another stop at Eye of the Whale for an optional hike to a seldom visited slick rock playground named Herdina Park. After exploring the backcountry we exit past the three gossips and Park Avenue before your guide returns you to Moab.

The tour will head north on US 191 passing the entrance of Arches National Park which was designated as a National Monument before being changed to a National Park in 1971. Our special use permit allows us to enter the back door to Arches via Willow Springs Road. Along this backcountry route, you'll travel through the new area of the "Utah Raptor State Park". Here where Native Americans lived back in history for thousands of years you'll see dinosaur tracks and enjoy the views of the La Sal Mountains. The Park lies atop an underground salt bed that is responsible for the arches, spires, and sandstone fins. Several of the stops include Eye of the Whale(Backcountry), Balanced Rock(Pavement), Sand Dune Arch(Pavement), Delicate Arche Viewpoint(Pavement), and the Windows Section(Pavement). The trip length is approximately 4 hours duration. All vehicles are Jeep Rubicons which are enclosed and air-conditioned.

You DO NOT need an entry reservation for this tour, we provide that for you! Join us on a Private 4×4 Backcountry tour in Arches National Park. This tour is approximately 4 hrs and departs multiple times per day. The tour is private for your group. All entry fees are included in the price. You will ride along in one of our 4×4 backcountry vehicles with heat and a/c for optimal comfort during all seasons. Throughout this half day experience you will learn all about the parks, history, and geology of the Moab area. Your guide will point out Arch formations, and other towering landscapes along the way. Since our tours are private we can stop for photos at any point. Sights on this tour include but are not limited to Marching Men, Tower Arch and Eye of the Whale Arch, and everything along the pavement sections. This tour will include both pavement sections and 4×4 road sections that are not paved.

Take a pleasant flight to Denver, the State Capital of Colorado! Please meet our friendly tour guide at Baggage Claim #6 located inside the East Terminal by 1:30PM. Drive to the State House of Colorado and Civic Center for sightseeing. Proceed to 16st Street Mall, home to some of Denver’s most historical buildings, and enjoy some free time. Drive to and stay overnight in the State Capitol of Wyoming, City of Cheyenne. We will visit at least four locations for photography in iconic Arches National Park for the afternoon golden hour and sunset. I have traveled extensively in search of amazing photographic locations, and it is hard to beat Arches National Park for the wide variety of photographic locations, and it is an official international Dark Skies park. During the busy season, I will lead the tour to locations that are less well known but still spectacular. I will show you great locations, and make suggestions on composition and subject matter. I can even help you with your camera settings if you are a beginner. After sunset. we will take a brief break for a picnic and go over camera settings for night photography while we wait for the Milky Way to emerge. (Note: in April & May, the Milky Way does not appear until after midnight, so we will return to Moab after sunset, and head back out late at night. A wee hours tour is available as a standalone tour during this time).

Amboseli is set on the Kenyan plains with Mt Kilimanjaro as a backdrop in the distance, the park is world-famous for its substantial population of African Elephants which can be seen in herds of over 100 individuals. In particular the large bull elephants have some of the largest tusks in the animal kingdom. Also to be spotted are ample herds of buffalo, wildebeest, zebra and impala, as well as giraffes and warthog. With all this variety you can be sure a healthy population of predators also call Amboseli home. Lions, leopards, caracals, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas and serval cats are all frequently seen in the park.
