This half day tour of about 3-4 hours, gives you a first impression of the major points of interest of the island. The tour is perfect for those who only stay a short time in Faial and do not want to miss anything. The tour leads you along the southern coast from Horta to the volcano of Capelinhos with a number of stops in between. On the way back we will take a minor road high above the villages. Depending on the weather conditions, you will either visit the Caldeira or some view points above Horta.

This half day walking tour takes about 3-4 hours and leads you through the streets of Horta. You will not only get to know the history of the city and its major landmarks but see some hidden places. This tour is perfect for those who are not only interested in scenic pictures but who want to know the stories behind the motives.

Hiking along the Levada, an abandoned water line, propels you into a completely different world. As if you were in the setting of Jurassic Park, just the Dinos are missing. The hike along the Levada can also be done if the weather is not perfect. The hike along the Levada is physically easy, but be ready to encounter some wet passages and pass through a short, but dark tunnel. The hike takes about 3 to 4 hours, due to the nature of the trail, the way back will be on the same route.

Hiking around the Caldeira is an experience you should not miss out if you visit Faial. This collapsed volcanic cone is one of the main landmarks of Faial. With 2 km in diameter it is an impressive reminder of the force of nature. The trail around the perimeter is about 7 km long and can be done in two to three hours. The hike around the Caldeira is physically easy, but those suffering from vertigo might find a couple of well secured passages a bit of a challenge. This hike is only worthwhile to be done if the weather is clear and the wind is not too strong. You will be rewarded with stunning views of the neighboring islands and the untouched nature.

We provide for the practice of Paintball a field created from scratch for this purpose. It has several towers, numerous trenches, different types of obstacles for you to enjoy a true strategy and action game.

The Caldeira of Faial has been a natural reserve since 1972 (category I – IUCN). It’s a volcanic collapse crater with unique characteristics. Since the Caldeira of Faial Descent is such a special experience, Faial Natural Park controls the access to the bottom, issuing only a limited number of permits. For this reason, a Certified Guide is mandatory for the Caldeira Descent. The trail is difficult because it is very narrow and steep and, sometimes, scrambling is necessary.

The ascent to the mountain of Pico and the descent to the Caldeira do Faial are two adventures that complement each other. These activities are recommended for true nature lovers. Enter this exclusive trail inside the largest volcanic crater on the island of Faial. On this descent of about 400 meters (vertically), you will find the vegetation that covered the island before its settlement and feel what it is like to be in the center of one of the largest craters in the Azores. This full day excursion to Pico takes about 8-9 hours, during which you will see most of the highlights of the neighboring Pico island. The tour is perfect for those visitors of Faial who only spend a couple of days in the Triangle but want to visit Pico without too much stress. The Pico, a first impression tour is an all inclusive trip from your accommodation in Faial, including the ferry transfers, to the main landmarks of Pico. Depending on the ferry schedules you will leave from Faial at around 9 a.m. and return in the late afternoon at around 7 p.m. At lunch time we will have a rich picnic in one of the recreational parks of Pico.

The specie we mostly see during our activity is the Blue Sharks and you will enjoy to swim with them at their own natural habitat or look at them from the boat. Blue Sharks are very curious and pass very close to the boat, spend long periods of time surface swimming, just floating at the surface or in the boat you will experience very close interactions with these beauties. A very friendly species and one of the most beautiful animal around. We also happen to see Mako sharks, the fastest shark of the Ocean !
