There will be some tunnels along the way, flash lights will be provided. We will end at the Achadas do Teixeira were our bus will await to transport back to the Hotel.

Our Pickups begins bright and early, with pickups starting from 5:30 a.m. in summer and 6.am in winter seasons, We'll pick you up from your location and transfer you to Pico do Areeiro. After enjoying the awe-inspiring sunrise, we'll arrange a pickup at the other end, allowing you to hike at your own pace. You'll start your hike from PICO DO AREEIRO to PICO RUIVO carkpark at Achada da Taxeira. Once you've completed your hike, will be waiting to transport you back to Funchal, ensuring a comfortable and convenient return journey. This excursion is ideal for adventurers and mountain lovers. Many people travel to Cape Verde and come to the island of Fogo especially to climb the majestic volcano "Pico de Fogo". This ascent allows you to reach… the highest point in Cape Verde! This magnificent volcano still in activity rises to 2829 meters above sea level. The level of difficulty of this climb is difficult. You need to be in good physical condition. You will be accompanied by an experienced local mountain guide. In terms of sensations, the climb can be a challenge for some. But be aware that a great reward awaits you at the top: total tranquility and a spectacular panoramic view. The descent of the volcano on the volcanic ash is very pleasant and jovial. This 12km Challenging walk has a duration of about 5 hours and connects two of the highest peaks of Madeira Islands, this is a stunning walk, involves tunnels, and some steep ascents and descents, with fabulous views of the central core of the mountains.  This Challenging walk connects two of the highest peaks of Madeira Island, Pico Ruivo (1862 m) and Pico do Areeiro (1817 m), crossing part of the Central Mountain.

Enjoy a roundtrip transfer from Funchal to Pico do Arieiro and from Ecological Park of Funchal back to the accommodation. Get picked up at your accommodation in Funchal and dropped off at the entrance to Pico do Arieiro to begin your self-guided hike. The day before the hike, get the exact pickup time and a weather forecast to get ready for your transfer. This walk starts at Pico do Areeiro, at approximately 1818 meters above sea level and we make our way to the highest point of Madeira, Pico Ruivo, around 1861 meters. It is possible to witness panoramic views of Madeira over the central mountain range that are absolutely breathtaking. This is the only known breeding site in the world of Zino’s petrel (Pterodroma madeira), an endemic species considered to be the most endangered seabird of Europe. In this area, the vegetation of altitude is predominant, mainly of Centenary endemic Urzes; these large trees predate Madeira’s discovery. To reach Pico Ruivo, we must go around Pico das Torres up a steep incline of steps carved in the rock and then descend, the most difficult part of this trail being the final climb to the Shelter at Pico Ruivo. But the thought of reaching the highest point of the island is a driving force. Near the Pico Ruivo shelter, we take footpath, which leads to Achada do Teixeira, where we finish our journey.

Pico Bonito National Park at 2,435 meters above sea level is the highest peak in the coastal area from Yucatán, Mexico to Barranquía, Colombia. This tropical rainforest is the second national park in Honduras, 30 minutes west of La Ceiba.
