The Sarapiquí River is one of the most exuberant rivers in the area with continues rapids class 4 and 3 for over 2 hours, with lots of wildlife during the descent like sloths, monkeys, toucan’s and more. This river is considered a Natural Monument of Costa Rica due to its nature and cultural history. The 3,739-hectare La Selva Biological Station is located in this region, one of the three most important neotropical ecological research and conservation stations in Costa Rica, owned by the Organization for Tropical Studies.
