Our route shadows the Myanmar border soaring high above the clouds, descending into the deepest of valleys with meandering rivers.
This 8-day tour starts and finishes in Chiang Mai and as such you will be required to fly directly into Chiang Mai regional airport to commence the tour.

Itinerary
Day 1: Day 1 – Chiang Mai to Mae Sot
Pass By: Holiday Inn Chiangmai, an IHG Hotel, 318, 1 Thanon Chiang Mai-Lamphun, Wat Kate, Amphoe Mueang Chiang Mai, Chang Wat Chiang Mai 50000, Thailand
This is where we start the tour and return once the tour ends.
Pass By: Mae Sot, Mae Sot, Tak Province
A fairly leisurely breakfast, then we set off along the Burmese border to cover the approximately 363km to the Burmese (Myanmar) border town of Mae Sot.
Rivers, valleys, farms and small towns, and we pass through three National Parks on the route. There will of course be a lunch stop and some cool photo opportunities.
We intend to arrive at our hotel around 5pm, so plenty of time to wash up before dinner.

Day 2: Day 2 – Mae Sot to Mae Sariang
Pass By: Mae Sariang, Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son Province
A fairly leisurely breakfast, then we set off along the Burmese border to cover around 240km up to Mae Sariang near the Slaawan National Park.
A Lot of the route follows the course of the Moei river, and delivers some fantastic vows across the border into Burma.
Overnight in Mae Sariang.

Pass by the scenic Moei river tributary as the water gushes past you.

Day 3: Day 3 – Mae Sariang to Pai
Pass By: Mae Hong Son, Mae Hong Son, Mae Hong Son Province
Lots to see and lots of roads to cover today, but it’s a fantastic route. The 108 could have almost been specifically made for touring bikes, and features twists, sweeping curves, loops and a few hilly climbs as we head up to Mae Hong Son covering around 160km.
Which is home to traditional hill tribes such as the Shan and Hmong. It is a gateway to the region’s hilly geography and is overlooked by the beautiful Wat Phra That Doi Kongmu, which is a Burmese-style monastery.

Day 4: Day 4 – Pai to Chiang Dao

It’s around 265km from Pai to Chaing Dao, but the tranquility of Pai stays with us on this breathtakingly beautiful ride to the Oasis of Chiang Dao.
Chiang Dao itself is a delight and boasts waterfalls, hot springs with accommodation that almost seems to hang from the mountainside
Lots of local snack options, artists workshops, and a good sized cave, you will love walking this gentle town in the evening, after dinner at our overnight hotel.
Pass By: Srilanna National Park, Sri Lanna National Park, Tambon Ban Pao, Amphoe Mae Taeng, Chang Wat Chiang Mai 50150, Thailand
The 1095 is well known as a great road for bikers with its loops and curves and great views as it skirts the Srilanna National Park.

Day 5: Day 5 – Chaing Dao to Chiang Khong
Stop At: Chiang Khong, Chiang Khong, Chiang Rai Province
Taking the 107 we skirt north across Chiang Rai on the 1089 and 1098 down through the river basin and head towards the Lao border and into the town to our hotel for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
The area is also home to the The Doi Tung Development Project (DTDP), a flagship projects established in 1988 by the Princess Mother in Chiang Rai Following her first visit to Doi Tung in 1987, the Princess Mother surveyed the baron hills and announced “I will reforest Doi Tung” to allow the local people and the wonders of nature to exist together.
One of the towns claims to fame is as the place where “Pla Buk”, giant catfish, is cultivated the largest freshwater fish in the world.

Pass By: Mekong River, Maha Sarakham City Thailand
This morning we say goodbye to Chaing Dao and head off on a 260km ride to Chiang Khong on the banks of the Mekong River in the Chiang Rai district.
Pass By: Golden Triangle, Chiang Rai Thailand
This takes us through the infamous Golden Triangle where Thailand, Lao and Myanmar all meet, with views of China in the distance

Day 6: Day 6 – Chiang Khong to Nan
Stop At: Nan, Nan, Nan Province
Breakfast done and we have a beautiful southward ride today covering around 255km down to Nan.
A fantastic biking road with plenty to enjoy and challenge your riding skills, with some tight loops and bends.
Then into Nan and its three bridges connecting the right bank to the left bank of the river Nan and a myriad of temples. We will stay overnight here and you can have fun exploring the city after our hotel dinner.

Pass By: Doi Phu Nang National Park, Ban Bo Bia Ban Mang subdistrict, Chiang Muan 56160 Thailand
As we get closer to Nan, we start to touch on the Doi Phu Nang National Park and its wonderful forests that give us some great stops for photos.

Day 7: Day 7 – Nan to Phayao
Stop At: Phayao City, Phayao City, Phayao Province
After breakfast it’s more of the wonderful Doi Phu Nang National Park to start the morning ride as we head inland to Phayao.
We arrived in Phayao late afternoon and a little time to explore before dinner at the hotel.
Plenty of markets and boutique shops to wander around and you can also ride the tram to see the city or stroll slowly and breath in the fresh air by the Lake

Passing close to the 17th century Wat Tha Fah Tai and its wood Buddha image standing over two meters high..
Pass By: Yom, Yom, Nan Province
Lovely river crossings and the route takes us along and over the river Yom, through forested hills and along the wonderful winding roads.

Day 8: Day 8 – Phayao to Chiang Mai
Pass By: Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai
After our final breakfast together we set off back to Chiang Mai. It’s around 210km on some great roads that run along the southernmost mountains of Doi Luang National Park and then we turn south east to head down to ChiangMai.
Lunch with a view on the way and would hope to arrive by early to mid afternoon in the city.
Then sadly it’s time to say goodbye and take away the memories of a fantastic experience and adventure.

It’s around 210km on some great roads that run along the southernmost mountains of Doi Luang National Park and then we turn south east to head down to Chiang Mai.
