On this tour you can cool off on Thailand’s highest peak while taking in the beautiful scenic Doi Inthanon National Park. Night time temperatures on the peak can be as low as -8 degrees centigrade. In the cold/dry season night time frosts are common. Day time temperatures can be surprisingly cold so do not forget a long sleeve jumper. On the way up we will walk on the famous nature trail, Kew Mae Pan then visit Wachirithan Waterfalls, The King and Queen Chedi’s, (the best views across the park are found here), and then on to the peak of Doi Inthanon the highest mountain in Thailand. Near the top we will take the Angkha nature walk where you can walk among the unique flora and forest that grow at this altitude. There are both Karen and Hmong villages in the bounds of Doi Inthanon and we will see those at the local market on the way down the mountain before making our way back to Chiang Mai.

Walking along the famous Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail, a 2.78 km trail with beautiful scenery. You will walk through a beautiful forest which is a home of some rare species, impressive waterfalls, streams, and breathtaking mountain views.

Stop At: Ban Luang Subdistrict, Doi Inthanon National Park 50270 Thailand

Located in Chiang Mai Province, Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand, rising 2,565 meters above sea level. Doi Inthanon National Park has lots of amazing variation in its lush geography and forest. It is home to rainforest, mixed forest, and pine forest. The weather is cool throughout the year, especially in the cool season when there will be almost constant fog coverage all day and a stunning phenomenon of Mae Kha Ning or frost flower in the early morning.

Here you will go to the highest point in Thailand, walk along nature trail (15 minute walking) and then visit Karen and Hmong hill tribe village and local market.

Phra Maha Dhatu Nabha Metaneedol and Phra Maha Dhatu Nabhapol Bhumisiri was builded by Thai Royal Airforce and Thai Citizens. The purpose of Phra Maha Dhatu Nabha Metaneedol was to build in the honor of King Bhumibol Adulyadej 50th birthday in 1987 and Phra Maha Dhatu Nabhapol Bhumisiri build in the honor of Queen Sirikit 50th birthday in 1995. Both places can see the unobstructed beautiful views of Doi Inthanon

Visit Wachirathan Waterfall (pronounced “wah-chee-rah-TAHN”; also spelled Vachirathan) was the second major waterfall on the way up to the summit of Doi Inthanon. Of all the waterfalls we saw in Doi Inthanon National Park, we thought this one had the most power and spray, and it was probably the most impressive of the lot on the mountain’s slopes.

Visit Hmong Hilltribe Market, a village and local market with genuine handmade products, fruits, and flowers sold by hill-tribe people in their traditional dress.
