Canals of local Bangkok

Bangkok Trip Overview

It is easy to rent a long-tail boat in Bangkok by yourself and explore the canals for 1 or 2 hours. But you can be quite sure you pay way too much and you won’t get any (background) information. Our famous Canals of Bangkok tour is so different and unique compared with all the other canal tours offered in the Thai capital.

By joining our Canals of Bangkok tour, you will still be able to catch a few glimpses of the old Thai way of life along the river and small canals north of Bangkok. This tour is one of the best ways to experience the local culture, history, and of course, it is a fun way to spend a day in the City of Angels.

Stop At: Chao Phraya River, 780/488 Charoen Krung Road, Bang Kho Laem, Bangkok 10120 Thailand

It is virtually impossible to explore all of Bangkok’s canals on your own, which is why this exclusive tour has been specially designed to offer visitors an unforgettable insight to life on the klongs (canals) of Bangkok.

Different kinds of boats are used, the Chao Praya Express boat, long-tails and small 3-4 person rocket boats (which are used to explore the smallest klongs). As there are so many canals the routing isn’t always the same.

Your guide will take you ashore to visit a local temple, village, school, fruit plantation or market. Everyday life of the Thai at the waterside is the central theme for this tour.

At around 14.30h the tour will end at the Chinatown pier, providing you an excellent opportunity to explore this part of Bangkok yourself (and have a great dinner as well!). It’s a tour you are not allowed to miss to get a proper impression of Bangkok and it is also a nice day to the more quiet side of the city.
