Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Nonthaburi, Nonthaburi, Nonthaburi Province
At around 8 AM your guide and driver will warmly welcome you at your hotel lobby. From here, we drive in northern direction towards Pathum Thani just outside of Bangkok, where we get our bikes, adjust these to the right size and off we go on an easy, relaxing bike ride through unseen Thailand.
Our cycling path follows the banks of the Chao Phraya. Riding alongside the river will be the only way to really see numerous small villages, temples that have not been visited by tourists, orchards, flower plantations, and the always very friendly locals. The guide will head the route and cycles away from river life and pass into the rural surroundings where we ride among rice paddies and fruit plantations before finishing the first part of our journey back on the banks of the river at Ban Bua Thong and heading over to Koh Kret.
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: Koh Kret, Chao Phraya River, Ko Kret 11120 Thailand
Koh Kret is a tiny island in the Chao Phraya River, accessible only by boat. On it live a community of craftsmen famous for their distinctive style of pottery which dates back many centuries. Koh Kret pots are known for their fine, red-black glazed surface and intricate design. The islanders are the descendants of the Mon people, and they have managed to retain the skills of their forefather
We pass the pottery village and visit the island’s Ancient Mon Pottery Centre, Wat Paramai Yikawat or Wat Mon, which contains a Mon-styled marble Buddha. The beautiful thing about riding on Koh Kret is that there are no cars allowed so you have the road to yourselves. Before stopping for a typical Thai lunch, we visit Wat Bang Jak, a Buddhist temple with a great importance for the local community.
After an excellent lunch, we head back to our motorized transportation and your dedicated driver, who will bring you in comfort back to your hotel in Bangkok where you will arrive at around 3 pm.
