What makes Thailand’s Ayutthaya Day Tour from Bangkok a unique experience ?
In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel. After about an hour’s ride, we will reach our first stop to Ayutthaya day trip – Wat Yai Chaimongkol (Great Monastery of Auspicious Victory), the oldest temple complex in this city. Here you will see the local landmark – the main chedi (Buddhist stupa), where you can climb up and get a panorama of this temple complex, and the famous 28-meter-long reclining Buddha statue.
Then you will head to Wat Phra Mahathat (Monastery of the Great Reli), a temple ruin situated on the center of Ayutthaya. With a history of over 600 years, Wat Phra Mahathat is one of the oldest Khmer Buddhist temple complex. As once loot by the Burmese, the Wat Phra Mahathat only leaves the visitors the massive foundation and rows of headless Buddha statues, which reflect the erstwhile splendor. You will also find the famous Buddha head statue embraced by the huge tree trunks and roots.
Afterwards, you will go to Wat Phra Srisanphet, the biggest and holiest Buddhist temple in Ayutthaya. Located at grounds of the former royal palace, Wat Phra Srisanphet once only served the royals for religious ceremonies. It is famous for the three tapering chedis where the royal relics of three Ayutthaya King are kept.
After the morning visits, you will be escorted to board on the Grand Pearl for a cruise with a buffet lunch. Embraced by the breathtaking scenery of Chao Phraya River, you will enjoy a delicious lunch with multiple choice including Thai cuisine. This relaxing cruise will take you back to Bangkok. After disembarking, your guide will escort you back to hotel.
