Bangkok Trip Overview

Explore 3 historical neighborhoods of Bangkok where ancient traditions thrive and seem irrelevant to the modern world. Each of them has distinct characters and is yet to be discovered by travelers in Bangkok. To make it more fun, we’ll travel by Tuk Tuk, Thailand’s iconic 3-wheeler. The tour starts in Thonburi, the preceded capital of Thailand before Bangkok. We’ll learn about ancient traditions, practices, and belief portrayed via beautiful temple art, architecture, and the villagers’ ways of life. In the communities, we’ll zigzag through a maze of alleys to find ancient dying art, see people of different religious beliefs living in harmony, taste delicious Portuguese-Thai fusion cake, and take photos of beautiful wooden houses and shophouses. The Off-Beat Tuk Tuk Tour is a great way to see Bangkok off the beaten paths, whether you’re a first timer or a returning visitor. Join this half-day tour with us and experience the sides of Bangkok you may not be aware of before.

Meet at Talad Phlu BTS Station and board on a Tuk Tuk to our first stop: Suvarnnaram Temple. Here, we marvel at its beautiful mural paintings and temple architecture, and learn about the Thonburi and early Bangkok kingdoms. The next stop is the Baan Bu community where we see the ancient art of stone polished bronze bowl making. Then we arrive at Kudee Jeen community, walk in the neighborhood to see how to locals live and visit its iconic religious landmarks including the Santa Cruz Catholic Church. You’ll also get to taste the delicious Portuguese-Thai egg cake or Khanom Farang here. At our last community, Talad Noi, we visit a traditional Chinese sweet shop, and a beautiful ancient home-turned-into-museum. Along the route, we’ll see several more ancient Chinese houses and pretty street art. For lunch, we’ll have fried noodles with water mimosa or duck rice at the best restaurant in Talad Noi.
