Starting from Chiang Mai around 9:00 am, you’ll travel by minibus to Chiang Kong, with a stop at Wat Rong Khun (White Temple) en route. After processing at both Thai and Lao immigration posts, you’ll board a big local sleeper bus for the 12-hour ride to Luang Prabang. Remember to arrange your visa beforehand, as fees are not included.
In Laos, sleeper buses feature two types of beds: single and large twin. Single beds are for individual passengers, arranged in rows, while large twin beds accommodate two travelers side by side. These buses are popular for overnight journeys, offering passengers flexibility in their sleeping arrangements.
