The Kao Chao Market is likely the oldest market in Lampang. It is almost next to the railway station, which was opened in 1916. The market starts very early in the morning before 0500 and ends around 1100. Get the chance to taste local snacks and see a lot of local smiles around you. After the market we will walk to the nearby iron train bridge to take some nice photos. After the market we will walk to the nearby iron train bridge to take some nice photos!
Following the bridgen you will be walking around the retro Kong Ta road to see some historical old style buildings and then we will explore the famous Lampang Street Art and take photos at the symbolic white bridge.
A short distance from Lampang, set amid farms and rice fields, is Wat Chedi Sao. The name literally means “the Temple of Twenty Chedis” and one look at the 20 pagodas in the temple courtyard makes it easy to understand the origin of the name. But the wát’s real treasure is a solid-gold, 15th-century seated Buddha on display in a glassed-in pavilion, built over a square pond
Guest will visit the ceramic village at Baan Sala Meng. Currently, Lampang is the capital of the ceramic industry in Thailand. There are many creative projects that have evolved from basic bowls out of China, to pretty ceramic bowls with a thick, white glaze that are now known as the “Charm Tra Kai” (or the rooster bowl), which has now become the symbol of the province.
The Wat Phra That Lampang Luang is one of the most highly revered temples in Thailand. According to legend the Buddha once visited the site some 2,500 years ago and donated a hair, which is now enshrined in the temple’s large chedi.
