Chiang Mai Trip Overview
Chiang Mai has had a long historical and cultural heritage. You will be introduced to the culture and history of the city on this Chiang Mai temple tour. We hop on a pedal-powered trishaw (Samlor) head to explore the centre of old town and visit Tapae Gate, the main entrance to the old walled city. See the crumbling walls and hear about Chiang Mai’s rich past. Then, we visit the Three Kings Monument and walk to Phra Singh Temple which has the most beautiful northern style architecture and was built in the year 1345. After that, we drive to visit Chedi Luang Temple (The temple of the Great Stupa) which is an impressive monument that once housed the country’s famed Emerald Buddha. Also on the temple grounds is the city pillar (Lak Mueang) of Chiang Mai. Following this, we continue to Chiang Mai’s silver making community. We visit Sri SuphanTemple (Silver Temple) which is also known as the Silver Temple because of its impressive hand crafted silver decoration. This is a unique temple!

The three Kings that the monument honors are: King Mengrai, King Ramkhamhaeng of Sukhothai, and King Ngam Muang of Payao.
When these kings ruled, there was a harsh way of living in the region which now is Northern Thailand. In order to safeguard their territories, these three Kings had sworn an oath of eternal friendship and alliance resembling in the Chiang Mai Three Kings monument.
