Stop At: Giant Swing, Bamrung Muang Rd, Bangkok 10200 Thailand

We stop at the Giant Swing, known for its use in a yearly Brahman rice harvest ceremony. The use of the swing was discontinued in the 1930s due to injuries and deaths as men would swing on the giant structure while trying to catch a bag of coins in their mouth. Those who caught the coins could keep them! Situated at the entrance of Wat Suthat, The Giant Swing’s huge size and bright red color makes it impossible to miss!

We pedal past Wat Ratchabophit.

Stop At: Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market), Jakkrapet Road, Bangkok 10200 Thailand

We ride to the famous Pak Khlong flower market and spend time savoring the scents of variety of roses, orchids, and jasmine twisted into beautiful arrangements for Buddhist religious offerings. Though busiest pre-dawn, it is open 24 hours and you’ll see locals selling a variety of flowers in a rainbow of colours.

Pedaling well off the tourist track, we stop to visit Wat Intharam. The favorite temple of King Taksin The Great, this unique temple was built with marble, brick, and baked clay.

Popular with locals, this temple is known for its large Buddha statues and bright colors. We stop here to allow time to explore the temple and take photos.

Hidden in the canals we stop at Baan Silapin, or the Artists House. Local artists use this space to sketch, create, and socialize. This wooden house is over 200 years old, famous for their traditional Thai puppet show and handmade artistic creations for sale. After our stop here, we take a 30 minute longtail boat ride to cross the river to Tha Phra Athit.
