Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market), Jakkrapet Road, Bangkok 10200 Thailand
We will meet you from our meeting point at Exit 5 of Sanam Chai subway Station at around 9 AM. Transfer from your hotel to the MRT subway station is on own arrangement. We recommend arriving around 15 – 30 minutes before the tour starts.
The MRTsubway station lies right in the very heart of Old Bangkok, used by many locals to commute from their residential region to other part and therefore avoiding Bangkok’s notorious traffic jams. Upon arrival at the meeting point, we head straight into the traditional side of Bangkok; a small yet very lively flower market grabs our senses and attention immediately where the smell of fresh flowers will follow you all along the way to the beautiful area of Ban Bat…by tuk tuk.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Ban Bat, Ban Bat, Bangkok
Once a thriving part of Bangkok, Ban Bat has remained its charm and is now considered one of the leading communities creating alms bowls the old fashioned way, one of the essential part of a monk’s daily alms ceremony. Your guide will be able to explain in detail the importance of this and the relation it has with Thai religion.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Kudi Chin, Kudi Chin, Bangkok
We tuk tuk further along to visit the Kudeejeen community which best known for its Portuguese and Chinese influences from hundreds of years ago. Preserving this has been the life’s work of a few of its residents. We stop to visit a heritage Thai-Victorian house and observe how to make former Thai royal cuisine ‘Chor Muang’. The old recipes uses to prepare meals for the royalties differ from the current Thai cuisine although elements of ‘Chor Muang’ have been integrated in the current modern form of this rich-in-flavour cuisine.
At the end of the walking tour, we hop on a long-tailed boat cruising through the communities by the water, and conclude our trip at the Saphan Taksin BTS station. Transfer back to your hotel is not included.
