We will welcome you virtually in our kitchen for this online cooking class. We are going to cook the iconic dish of Chiangmai “KHAO SOI CURRY” or “Chiangmai Noodles curry” together.
What is Khao Soi?
Khao Soi is basically a creamy Thai coconut curry served with egg noodles and garnished with deep fried crispy egg noodles, shallots, lime, roasted chili oil and sour pickled mustard green. It’s a famous dish in northern Thailand, especially in Chiangmai, because of its unique and rich flavor curry. The name Khao Soi means cut rice. The word Khao is rice and Soi means cut. The reason that this dish is called Khao Soi because traditionally, the noodles are made from rice flour, egg, salt and water but nowadays, we use egg noodles which are made of wheat flour instead of rice flour.
We will guide you step by step how to make Khao Soi paste from the scratch, the chicken stock, cook the curry and prepare condiments such as crispy egg noodles and roasted chili oil.
After the class, we will send the recipe for you to recreate the dish for your friends and family.
If you are a vegetarian or don’t have all the ingredients, don’t worry, we will find the alternatives for you.
