Hol Chan, Shark Ray Full-Day Snorkeling Tour From San Pedro Belize


We are proud to be one of the few operators to give you more at a competitive price and still provide exceptional services. An idea of the itinerary is as follows: Depart at 8:30am for 15 Minutes boat ride to Hol Chan Marine Reserve followed by orientation. 8:45am to 9:45am snorkel At Hol Chan. Boat ride to Shark Ray Alley 10 Minutes. 10am snorkeling at Shark Ray Alley for 25 – 35 Minutes. 10 Minutes ride to Coral Gardens for our 3rd Snorkel stop. 10:15am to 11:15am: Snorkel Coral Gardens. 10 Minutes ride from Coral Gardens to the North Channel to snorkel & look for Manatees. Snorkel for approximately 45 Minutes at North Channel. 15 Minutes ride to Caye Caulker. After consulting with our guests we make a decision to continue to tarpon interaction or take a break to Enjoy a warm Belizean Lunch. At about 1:30pm; take some time to explore the laid back Island of Caye caulker where you can purchase souvenirs. We depart at 3pm enroute to San Pedro with arrival there at about 4pm.

Snorkeling and Sailing to Caye Caulker with stops at Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark & Ray Alley. We do a guided snorkel of the Marine Reserve Hol Chan and then snorkeling at Shark & Ray Alley. We leave a little later than most Tour Operators at 10:00 am vs 8:00 am and return later as well, to include the sun setting, where others have you back before or around 4:00 we get back about 6:00 pm. The Crew will walk Guests around the Village in Caye Caulker, go to feed the Tarpon or see the Seahorses and check out The Split. We typically see dolphins along the way!

This snorkel adventure is a speed boat ride just minutes from shore and has 3 snorkel stops. The Caye Caulker marine reserve is one mile away from Caye Caulker. You spend 30 minutes at each stop, namely, The channel, Shark Ray Alley and the Coral Gardens. Then head on over to Tarpon Town to view and feed the Tarpons and the Pelicans and our final stop is at Seahorse City to spot these delicate creatures before returning to the island.

Hol Chan Marine Reserve is located off the southern tip of Ambergris Caye. Mayan for “little channel”, Hol Chan Marine Reserve is doubtfully one of the most popular dive sites in the Caribbean, and indeed in Belize. The entire reserve focuses on a cut through the reef (called a quebrada) which is little more than 25 yards wide and 30 feet deep about 4 miles southeast of San Pedro. Hol Chan has burgeoned into a unique refuge, with vigorous coral formations and a richness of marine life. We will then head to the neighboring Turtle Garden, where you will snorkel or dive and be able to get up close and personal with ecstatic Sea Turtle and Southern Sting Rays. When you arrive, you will see the surface often boiling with rolling sharks and sting ray as they compete for the scraps. These creatures have a great tolerance for divers and snorkelers. We depart later to let you sleep in, avoid the crowds, and see the sunset at the end of the tour. We start with snorkeling at Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. Hol Chan has the largest variety of species to be seen in the area and is often compared to an aquarium, while at Shark Ray Alley you get to experience a close encounter with nurse-sharks and stingrays. Watch from the boat or swim with them! We then serve our famous Belizean buffet lunch on-board. Traditional dishes like stewed chicken and rice and beans with our Captain’s secret recipe BBQ fish! After lunch, we stop at the neighbor island Caye Caulker for approx. 1 hour of free time to explore the island, followed by a relaxed sunset cruise back to San Pedro, with ceviche being served.
