Dog Sledding

Enjoy a truly Alaskan experience in the famous North Pole Alaska on a 30 minute dog sledding adventure. This ride includes informative commentary from your local guide as you glide through the snow covered forest.  You will be seated in the dog sled as the team of Alaskan Huskies whisk you down the trails. Your guide will be standing on the back of the sled driving the team by voice commands. You will have a short stop during your adventure to meet your team of Alaskan Huskies and take pictures. All outer layers of winter clothing are included.

Founded by Susan Butcher (4-time Iditarod champion), Trail Breaker Kennel is an iconic piece of Alaskan culture. The kennel is conveniently located a mile from the Fairbanks International Airport and 15 minutes from downtown Fairbanks. Alaskan Dog Sledding is the perfect experience for dog-lovers and outdoor adventurers alike.

Learn of the rich history of Chatanika from one of our guides while travelling through a beautiful boreal forest. We only have 2 tour slots a day to give each group ample time. This is a small family run business and you will be greeted and guided by an owner the entire time here. We do accomidate families/large groups & single travelers! For group size requests over 6 guests please contact Howling Bay Kennel direct through their website. Our weight limit per guest is 250lbs clothed. If you exceed the weight limit, but meet the physical requirements and can comfortably participate, we may be able to accomidate you as a single rider for a double booking fee. In this 3 – 5 miles trails with Alaskan Huskies you will learn the history of the dog mushing and get an experience on how to help ride the sled with voice commands. – Free Pick up Service at a hotel in Fairbanks – Free Photo Service *** 2 tickets are required for Passengers over 250 pounds or 113 Kilograms *** – Dog Sledding Snow Seasons: From Nov. 1 To Apr. 20. – Dog Sledding with Cart or ATV: No Snow – Fall Dog Sledding Season: from August 1 to October 31 – Summer and Fall (It takes 10 to 15 min). If you use Uber or a rent car to get here, you need to pay additional expense. If you drive to the dog sledding sites, it would be dangerous because of the snow and unknown road conditions. Therefore, we offer to pick you up. We will upload your pictures into a OneDrive or a Dropbox. We will send a url linked to download them all.

We specialise in small groups and personal experiences with quality at the heart of everything we do. Our huskies are extremely friendly and good with children or nervous guests. Our equipment is of premium quality and you won't find our cake in the shops! But most of all, our dogs are the stars of this experience and by the end of the tour, we're sure you'll love them as much as we do.

Ride with the some of the premier Alaska Racing Huskies, an educational Q & A presentation on Mushing by our resident mushing experts, and a visit to the FREE Puppy Camp. Feel the excitement of riding with an experienced dog sled musher over cut trails through the Yukon wilderness! This 6 hour tour that departs from Yukon Heath's Popcorn Emporium at 9a.m. This tour features stops at Capt Moore's Bridge and Tutshi. Next visit Caribou Crossing Iditarod Training Camp for approx 1 hour. This gives you time for lunch, the wildlife museum, petting farm and PUPPIES! The tour will also take you to Emerald Lake, The Yukon sign, the Welcome to Alaska sign, and there is a possibility of wildlife spotting including bears, sheep, caribou, elk, lynx, fox, eagles, and moose. Dog sledding consist of a musher, a sled and one or more dogs. It's an adventurous activity for your holiday in northern Norway. Be part of an authentic Arctic adventure when driving your own team of dogs on the outskirt of Tromsø. You will get some great advice from our guide to help you have a wonderful experience as a musher (driver) and become one with nature. All our 84 friendly Alaskan huskies have names and different personalities. They love to run and receive cuddles. We travel over tundra and through forests and you will get in close contact with both nature and dogs. During daytime, you will get a beautiful view towards the Lyngen Alps, and during dark season you can experience the northern light dancing above us. Two people share each sled and we will stop along the way to change mushers and to take photos.

Get to know the dogs of Susitna Sled Dog Adventures! Join us in the dog yard and enjoy some fun with a lively group of sled dogs as they run around the fenced in yard. Explore the world of sled dogs, learn what it takes to compete in races, and understand why these incredible animals thrive in this unique role. We'll tell you stories about the dogs and share adventures from the trails. After some playtime in the yard, we'll dress up a dog in a harness, show you the sled, and talk about the winter gear we use. If we have any puppies, we'll end the visit cuddling with the next generation of athletes. This is a great activity for dog lovers who want to learn about sled dogs, and more importantly, get a dose of dog therapy.

Spend your day enjoying two of the most unique winter activities Wyoming has to offer! Experience the incredible power of the dog teams as they mush through the Buffalo River Valley. You'll also get the opportunity to glide across the snow on our terrific snowmobiles through the beautiful backcountry! The dogsledding occurs on private trail sections that do not have snowmobiles and our location is 20 miles closer to town than other providers.
