This afternoon trip will be dedicated to the famous vineyard of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The ruins of the Pope's formal summer residence dominate the typical medieval village. The 13 varieties of grapes combined with the various soils create a large palette of complex red wines and elegant white wines. Enjoy two wine-tastings in two of the numerous cellars of the village before going back to Avignon.

You will visit all along the tour in 3 different wineries, including at least 1 located in the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation area (appellation with more than 300 producers). You will taste at least 3 wines in each area. Subject to the availability of the estates, one of the 3 wineries is located in Beaumes de Venise, country of Muscat (natural sweet wine), another in Gigondas (famous for its red wine) and a third in Châteauneuf du Pape (world famous for its red wine but possessing a quality white). In case of unavailability of the partner domains of Beaumes de Venise and/or Gigondas, it is possible that we go to a domain in Séguret, Vacqueyras or a second domain in Châteauneuf du Pape.
