Lake Bohinj

Two exquisite glacier lakes glitter in the green valleys of the Slovenian Alps. We will visit Bled, mundane resort with an eminent medieval castle and a romantic island in the lake. Later we will drive to Lake Bohinj which lies in a tranquil and pristine valley in the Triglav National Park.

To the north-west of Slovenia is located National Park Triglav, which cover most of the Julian Alps. This is where is Waterfall Savica and Lake Bohinj are located. Lake Bled is just around thirty minutes away from National Park Triglav. If Your short on time, this experience is great way to explore this sights. Visit Waterfall Savica, Lake Bohinj and Lake Bled. Hike to 836m above sea level to reach Waterfall Savica(around twenty five minutes hike). Do short walk and hikes at Lake Bohinj, take picture of golden-horn statue, four brave man statue and visit Church of St. John the Baptist. Travel with Plenta boat, visit the Lake Bled Castle, hike to Mala Osojnica. Note: There is approximately three hours of traveling to the National Park and back to Ljubljana, an hour will be spent on the lunch break.

Its wonderful pine forests are a remarkable sight, growing at elevation reaching well above 1000 meters (3280 feet). Maybe Bohinj lacks Bled’s glamour, but it’s less crowded and in many ways more authentic. We are going to follow the main tributary river Savica, through unspoilt forests of NP Triglav, taking us up to magical Waterfall Savica, very unique one among world waterfalls – its watercourse is divided into two parts in the hidden undergrounds. The famous A-shaped waterfall normally comes into sight at an altitude of 836 m and is 78 m high. At Bled time for picture stop, time permitted!

Off the beaten track through Pokljuka plateau! We’ll start today’s fairytale at Bled, Slovenian prime Alpine resort-town! Allowing time to cruise to the magical Bled island. Upon return we’ll continue with panoramic drives within Triglav NP through 1.100m high Pokljuka plateau. Picture-postcard views of endless pristine breech and fir forests open into pastures of shingle covered wooden cottages;  once used as homes for shepherds and a place to make dairy products. At Bohinj Lake, largest permanent lake in Slovenia with its Alpine clear waters some free time to enjoy lake and surroundings of unspoilt nature. Time planned for your Pletna boat ride and island visit at Bled!

On Emerald River Tour we are visiting different lakes(Jasna, Bohinj), waterfalls(Kozjak, Boka…) and the most beautiful river in this part of Europe Soča river which enchants everyone with its special Emerald colour. You will be traveling in a mini van (max 8 persons) with private guide and stop every few kilometres to do different hikes to natural attractions. If you would like to experience some adrenalin during the trip you also have option for upgrade and do different activities like Rafting on Soča river, Zipline in Bovec or Skydiving while others will visit one very nice waterfall close the city.

Transport for up to 20 bicycles on 2 trailers is available. A minibus for 7 +1 people is available for hire. 2 special bike trailers may be hired together with a minibus which can transport up to 20 bikes. 1 trailer accommodates 8 bikes ( 2.4m long, 1.3m wide) and the other has space for 10 bikes (3m long and 1.5m wide). It is also possible to rent just the bike trailers.
