The property comprises 16 pavilions and includes underground tunnels and a sense of style that is characterized by mosaic art, colored roof tiles, intricate arches, and fun, playful lines. The Hospital of La Santa Creu i Sant Pau was created in 1401 after the merger of six hospitals that existed at that time in Barcelona.
