Ceramic art allows us to discover our creative abilities! Contact with clay grounds us and relaxes us while at the same time creating utilitarian or decorative ceramics. By learning the techniques of ceramics in the workshop, we will be able to create any form and shape we desire! You will learn three different techniques of ceramics. The two techniques will be hand building and one on the pottery wheel. The clay, tools, paints and kiln to complete your project are free. For the both stages (biscuit-glazed) will take 8- 15 days. You will be coached by an expert who's been running this business after his father for about 40 years. All materials will be provided & you'll get to take the shape you made with you!

90 minutes of pottery for all ages. Join us with your friends and family members. It is an ideal journey for beginners and for those who have taken beginning pottery classes in the past and would like a refresher lesson. Join us to learn all about wheel throwing! Step-by-step instructions, wheel, tools, and all related supplies will be given. At the end of the session you have the following options: 1- Walk out with your raw pottery creation. Or, 2- (Optional) Glaze your creation and fire it for $35. Or, 3- (Optional) Just fire -bisque it for $10 What to wear? Shirts and shoes are required. Clay comes out of fabric without much effort, but we always suggest wearing clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Throughout history, human beings have been creative by using the resources provided by the soil for their own benefit in daily life. For centuries, local people have been taking this clay and using traditional old pottery wheels to make various items such as wine jugs, cooking utensils and souvenirs ever since Turkey embraced tourism.

In this workshop you will be able to experience clay modelling and the Colombino technique. At the end of the workshop you will have finished a clay object that will need to dry first and then be baked, this process might take up to 2/4 weeks. Work with clay and feel it between your hands. We will learn about traditional prehispanic ways of clay preparation and pottery handcraft. We will visit a potter family in their house-workshop for the workshop where we have a typical breakfast. But we go furter that that: we may walk in a field or see a production at a local bakery, all depends on availibility and your interests. One is sure: this is experience is a genuine interaction with local people. We will not only learn about Tseltal living culture but also we will share and live it. No prior knowledge is necessary, you will be surprised at what you are capable of doing with your own hands. We will have a fun time in my workshop, I'm sure of that.

Pottery satisfied various needs of man's daily life for some rudimentary utensils, using the most simple material soil with rudimentary processing and a little water that could turn it into clay and create works that can be said to have sealed the evolution of civilization. In our workshop we learn the history of clay from the beginning until today. You will see the first pottery tools that were created and their evolution. The visitor will feel, this unique art and how this has passed through the centuries without radical changes and continues even today in our country.

The hours I go to the atelier are for me a source of energy and relaxation, and that’s what I’m looking for those who visit my atelier. The workshop is located 16 kilometres from Heraklion ( acces only with car ), in a unique location in the nature, with a spectacular view of Cretan mountains.
